It was only a matter of time before someone dug up, "Ding Fries Are Done' from the sedimentary layers of the internet. We're just surprised Burger King was the one to do it, you know, considering the meme is based on a Burger King employee with Down syndrome.

For those who are out-of-the-loop, 'Ding Fries Are Done' is a parody of the Christmas song 'Carol of the Bells' that was created in 1993 and circulated for years in email chains and on message boards before finding a home on-sites like yours truly. Billy, the character in the video has an entire Christmas album dedicated to him, called 'A Very Spastic Christmas'.

It's hard to imagine Burger King not doing the due diligence before releasing their 2020 version of everyone's favorite down syndrome Burger King employee. It's true, things were "different" back then. Making fun of the disabled people was 'acceptable' to some degree. But only on places as wretched as this one.

This is the original for those who don't know the song. Beware the tune will eat away at your brain like a parasite.

The full lyrics are:

nah nah nah nah
nah nah nah nah
da da da da
da da da da

da da da da
da da da da
da da da da
da da da da

I work at burger king making flame broiled whoppers
I wear paper hats
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done

I gotta run
I gotta run
I gotta run
I gotta run

Don't bob for fries in hot fat
it really hurts bad
and so do skin grafts
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Where is the bell?
Wait for the bell
Can't hear the bell
Where is the bell?

Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done

I work at burger king making flame broiled whoppers
I wear paper hats
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?

Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Ding fries are done
Diiiing friiiiies aaaaare dooooooone

Family Guy even did a parody of 'Ding Fries Are Done', though they themselves not known for their political correctness, what was once edgy humor, now comes off as mean spirited.

And here is the Burger King version. You'll notice they changed it up a bit, removing Billy and adding their own corporate twist.  Judge it for yourself. I guess it comes down to whether you can separate the 'art' from the 'artist'.
